Testimonials…

“What can I say about this quilt and Angela who made it? It is without a doubt the most beautiful item I now have the joy of owning and Angela is the loveliest person I have met “online”… This was a long collaborative process and Angela was meticulous in showing me fabrics (numbering them so it was clear which fabric she was referring to and which I would choose), seemed to understand my (quite eclectic) taste, and was so patient with my many questions. The quilt itself is exquisite–it is everything I could have wished for and so much more… While I am not a quilter, the quality and skill is apparent and it takes my breath away. The price was so reasonable and I feel so so fortunate to have chosen Angela to make my 40th Birthday present to self… Thank you so so much Angela.”  -Meg from Australia

“Angela….What a beautiful memento to my Pops! The quilt arrived yesterday and was waiting for me when I got home. It is so beautiful! I love the fabrics you helped me select and how they really go well together. You do wonderful work and its obvious you pay close attention to detail! Thank you! I am so happy!”  – Lindsay from CO

“You may recall that a family from England bought one of your beautiful quilts. We came across your wonderful stall at Craft Lake City. I just wanted to let you know that your quilt is safely back on this side of the pond. We took great care of it on our way home carrying it as hand luggage rather than allowing it to go in the hold of the plane. Memories are in a sense what makes us who we are, and to capture those memories in such an outstanding piece of art is a real gift. It will be loved and treasured. Kind regards.”  – Melanie from England

“I love it sooooooo MUCH! Savannah will be so happy and proud of her bed! Thank you very much!”  – Tracie from IL

“We received the quilt. It is beautiful and we absolutely love it. It fits our bed perfectly and the colors compliment the room. Also, the thickness of the quilt is exactly what we like. Thanks again for all your hard work. We will cherish the quilt for years to come.”  -Mica from NC

About me and my quilts…

Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Angela Flicker and I am an appliqué artist, a modern quilter, a student currently getting a master’s degree in architecture, and owner of The Artists’ House.

When I was pregnant with my daughter Monet, before she was even born I wanted the very best for her.  When looking for that perfect baby blanket, I found myself frustrated and disappointed with what was out there.

When it came to something as precious as her baby blanket, something she would wrap up in every night, and drag around every day, well, only the best would do.

Nothing was quite right though and so I designed and made her blanket, my very first quilt.  One quilt turned into two, and two to three, and soon a business was born.

And so now I create truly unique quilts, sewn together one piece at a time –quilts that are “only the best” for you and your family.

Ordering Process:

All my quilts are pieced by machine, machine quilted, and binded by hand using the traditional double-binding method. These techniques give the quilt a professional finish and guarantee durability.   Along with strength, my quilts are often a showcase of detail.  All the raw edges are turned under when I appliqué (except when using felt, as felt does not fray).  This practice is very rare, due to it’s difficult nature, but I feel this gives the appliqué’ images a much cleaner look and guarantees the durability they need for multiple cleanings in the future.  I use quality, Kona cotton and/or other designer fabrics on all my quilts.

Your 100% satisfaction is my priority and I’ll work closely with you to create a unique quilt that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

Please contact me at theartistshouse@gmail.com if you have any questions in regards to ordering your custom made quilt.

Step 1:

Email me at theartistshouse@gmail.com.  Within 24 hours I will send you a “custom quilt form” to fill out and return to me.

Step 2:

A $50 dollar fee is due for me to begin work on your quilt design.  This $50 will be credited towards the final cost of your quilt.  (Note: I also accept checks. Please send me an email if this is your preferred method of payment.)

Step 3:

Once you are happy with the design, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to begin work. The total balance will be due on completion of the quilt, prior to delivery. Checks that are returned for any reason are subject to a $25 fee.  Shipping and handling runs around $15.00 depending on the size of your quilt and insurance is available at an extra cost.A confirmation of your order and billing will be sent via e-mail before I begin working on your quilt.  Time of delivery is dependent on order size, but is estimated at about 12-16 weeks.  Progress will be updated via e-mail, as well as shipment notification.

Because all quilts are custom made, and a significant amount of time and money is put into these quilts, returns are not accepted.

Quilt Care:

Please carefully care for your quilt, as it is a treasured piece of functional art, a family heirloom.  Please avoid direct sunlight and do not store quilts in plastic bags.  Spot cleaning and “airing the quilt out” is sufficient for keeping the quilt clean day to day.  If you need to wash your quilt, wash it in cold water, using the gentle/hand-wash cycle on your machine.  Always use a gentle dye-free detergent.  Dry briefly on a low, non-heat setting and then lie flat to dry.  It is very important that you DO NOT wash is warm or hot water, and that you DO NOT dry using heat.  Dry Cleaning is also NOT recommended.
